Terms

The few points that come with using it.

Last updated 14 September 2026

Nearby History is a free walking guide to Luxembourg City, offered as it is, for your personal use. Using it means agreeing to the few points below.

Walking

The map, the directions and the stories are there to make a walk richer, not to replace your own eyes. Watch the traffic, mind the steps, and treat the route as a suggestion. We are not responsible for what happens on the way.

The stories

Our texts are written and checked by hand against published sources, but history has gaps and so may we. If you find a mistake, tell us and we will correct it. Text for places we have not written ourselves comes from Wikipedia and OpenStreetMap and is presented as found.

Accounts

An account is optional. You are responsible for the device and the sign-in method you use with it. We may remove accounts that abuse the service, and you can delete yours at any time from Settings. What we keep and why is on the privacy page.

Credits and rights

Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors, under the Open Database Licence; map tiles by OpenFreeMap. Photographs come from Wikimedia Commons, each credited with its author and licence where it appears. Our own texts and recordings belong to Nearby History; you may not copy or republish them without permission. The app's code is a private project.

Availability

This is a small project run at no cost to you. It may change, pause or stop, and we do not guarantee that it is always up or always right.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of Luxembourg.
